Rally Info
The Cape Breton Bikefest was born from an idea that began after the Regional H.O.G. Rally was held here in July 2008. A small group of citizens and business people got together and said if this is what we can do with a single group of bike enthusiasts, what could happen if this was open to all breeds of bikes? After many discussions with different groups of people the ideas started to flow. With no shortage of people that wanted to be involved it quickly took shape and a vision was framed. All levels of Government quickly became involved as the tourism impact could be envisioned by all, after all we did have “The Most Beautiful Island in the World”. We have many resources at our disposal so why not show them off to the world.
After forming the “Cape Breton BikeFest Society”, a not for profit group of local bike enthusiasts and business people, and enlisting the help and support of the different levels of government and groups such as Destination Cape Breton and the Tourism Department, we have been working hard on putting together a Bikefest like no other. We have been studying other bike rallies and have been looking at what works and what doesn’t and will bring all the resources we can to the event to make it one of the biggest attractions and destination events in the Maritimes.
