Coffee Express will also be open. Howie MacDonald will be on stage from 12:00 pm

bike on one of Sydney’s oldest shopping district, take in the sights of the historic
downtown, and only a 2 minute walk to the Vendor Village and Stunt Shows.
Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast – 7:30 – 11:30 am. Farmers Market building,
Keltic Drive, Sydney River. Adults $5 & $3 for children.
Free Whale Watching – 10:30 am at Oshan Whale Watch, Bay St. Lawrence,
at the Top of Cape Breton Island for Bikefest participants. Limited seating.

Bay St. Lawrence Community Centre and the Bay Cafe – 11:30 am. Lunch
of either a lobster sandwich or ham and swiss sandwich plus dessert and drink. Call
902-383-2334 to order in advance. Sample fresh Nothern Cape Breton Oysters,
compliments of Hideaway Campground and Aspy Bay Oysters. Bikefest participants
are also offered free admission to the North Highlands Museum and Cultural Centre.
Louisbourg Crabfest – 12:00 pm – 1:30 am. Enjoy fresh crab dinners, music and

Dinner and Music in Englishtown – 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Enjoy homemade fishcakes
and bake beans or Chili, plus dessert, tea,and coffee. All while listening to local talent
overlooking St. Ann’s Bay.
All Day Lobster Dinners – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. St. Georges Church Hall, Nepean St.,
Sydney. Bar service will be available.

Self Serve Bikewash – 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Sydco Fuels parking lot, George St.,
Sydney. Provided by the Cape Breton Free Wheelin’ motorcycle club. Donations
going to the Regional Hospital Paliative Care Unit.
Escorted Rides – Local riders will guide you around the following scenic areas
of Cape Breton. Sign up sheets will be at the Bikefest info booth. Please show up
with your belly and gas tank full and your bladder empty.
Ride # 1: 9:00 am. Departs the parking lot of the Sydney Shopping Centre.
Out George St. onto Argyle and out Alexandra St. through Marion Bridge to the
Fleur Di Lis Trail towards St. Peters. Brief rest stop at store in Grand River. On to
St. Peters for coffee at Tim Horton’s then on to Isle Madame via River Bourgeois
and Louisdale. Proceed through Descouse to Arichat. Stop for lunch. After lunch,
leave Arichat and return to highway 104 then return to Centre 200, Sydney via route 4.
( Ride approxamately 4 hours)
Ride # 2: 10:00 am. Departs the parking lot of Sydney Shopping Centre and proceeds
through Whitney Pier to South Bar and onto New Waterford. Rest stop along the route
to be determined. Following the coast line through Glace Bay, Donkin, Port Morien,
Main a Dieu, and onto Louisbourg to stop at the Crab Fest for lunch. Then return to
Sydney via highway 22 to Centre 200, Sydney. ( Ride approxamately 2 ½ hour)
Ride # 3: 1:00 pm. Departs the parking lot of the Sydney Shopping Center up to
George St. to highway 125. Take Sydney River exit to route 4 to St. Peters where there
will be a stop for a break at the Tim Horton’s and fuel in St. Peters. Then proceed
to Evanston, Cleveland , Marble Mountain, Orangedale, and Iron Mines through
Whycocomagh. Stop at Tim Horton’s in Baddeck and fuel up. Then onto Englishtown
for dinner and live entertainment. Then back to Centre 200, Sydney via highways 105
and then highway 125. ( Ride approxamately 4 hours)
Ladies only Ride – 3:00 pm at the Zeller parking lot near the Ultramar on Prince
Street.The Saddle Bags invite all lady riders for a scenic ride through Port Morien to
see the summer people. A $5 donation will go to the All Womans Centre. Contact them

on to route 19 to Inverness and a stop at the Glenora Distillary for a tour and
lunch. From there on to Mabou with a short stop at the Shrine. Then route 252 to
Whycocomagh and back to Centre 200, Sydney. ( Ride approxamately 4-5 hours)
Ride # 5: 9:00 am. Departs Sydney Shopping Center parking lot and travels
along part of the scenic Cabot Trail through Wreck Cove and Cape Smokey to
Ingonish. A stop at the Keltic Lodge for a BBQ, and live Cape Breton music.
This is a one way escorted ride as the Ride Guides will have to depart early to assume
traffic control duties at the Storm the Fortress event in Louisbourg.
( Ride is approxamately 3 hours one way)
Ride # 6: 10:00 am. Departs parking lot of the Sydney Shopping Center out
highway 4 to Route 216 thriugh Eskasoni to Christmas Island, along route 223 to
Leitches Creek and on to the highway to Bras D’or for a stop at the Tim Horton’s,
A&K Chicken, or Ice Cream. Then route 305 and 239 through Florence, Sydney Mines,
Shore Rd, Pt. Edward, Edwardsville, Westmount and back to Centre 200, Sydney.
( Ride approxamately 2 ½ hours)

Storm the Fortress – 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Ride your bike into the Fortress of Louisbourg
and prepare to be entertained the 18th century way. For tickets on this, or info on their

Admission by donation. Proceeds going to the Regional Hospital Foundation.
